Your Riding holiday
The riding here is magnificent; we have a lot of woodland, open countryside, river valleys and some of the most beautiful villages in France. Plenty of canters along the many paths and open fields. A typical days riding would comprise of between two or three hours ride in the morning, back to the gite for a home cooked lunch, and then a few more hours riding in the afternoon. For the day rides, we go a bit further afield, with a break for a gourmet picnic lunch with home cooked food using fresh local produce and regional wines. Horses and riders refreshed, we continue our ride, returning to the gite for a beer or glass of wine, and a dip in the pool.
riding holidaysOn site we have a well equipped show jumping paddock which you are welcome to use. We also have a Cross Country course in the grounds of our Woodland Valley. The course consists of 11 jumps from fallen logs, water jumps and higher obstacles for those that would like to try it out. We also have some TREC (Techniques de Randonnee Equestre Competion) obstacles, similar to Handy Pony! So you can try the S bend, neck rein through the figure of 8, open and shut the gate, to name a few. It really helps teach you control of your horse, and is great fun.

Visiting BelcastelIt is your riding holiday and it is our aim that it should be an enjoyable experience. Our horses are the stars of the show, and we have a herd that caters for all levels of riders. We have many different rides out, so it is rare to repeat a ride unless by special request for your favourite! We of course welcome non riders too, and can help with walking or cycling routes, and local villages to explore.
